INDICATIONS:<\/strong><\/p>\n

VOGLITUS, for the treatment of type 1 and type 2 diabetes. It is specifically used to lower postprandial blood glucose, thus reducing the risk of macrovascular complications.<\/li>\n

DOSAGE:
\n<\/strong>Adults:<\/strong> The dosage is 1 tablet, 3 times a day, to be taken at the beginning of each meal.
\nElderly:<\/strong> Start with the lower dose (0.2 mg), 1 tablet, 3 times a day, to be taken at the beginning of each meal.<\/p>\n

\nIn its 2014 recommendations, the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) reports data that support the involvement of postprandial hyperglycemia in the development of macro- and microvascular complications of diabetes. It highlights the growing body of evidence supporting a link between postprandial hyperglycemia and several markers of cardiovascular disease, namely oxidative stress, endothelial dysfunction, and carotid intima-media thickness. The European DECODE study demonstrated that postprandial blood glucose may be a better predictor of cardiovascular and fatal mortality than fasting blood glucose. The authors of the latest IDF recommendations point to a possible link between postprandial hyperglycemia and the risk of diabetic retinopathy, diabetic polyneuropathies and the onset of cognitive impairment in elderly patients.<\/p>\n<\/body>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
